As part of a evangelical concert held at Samba Night Club to Jacmel this Sunday, August 14, 2011, to mark the fourth anniversary of the show “Mesi Bondy” presented on Radio One, of Port-au-Prince, Wyclef Jean, the Haitian Hip Hop Star, has officially announced his return in the evangelical world that he had left from his childhood in order to embrace the musical world of Hip Hop.
Dressed of a white suit, the former singer of Fuggees has climbed the podium under the applause of an audience eager and very curious to see the Haitian artist Wyclef Jean, to divorce of the worldly music.
In an exclusive interview with Haitilibre, the star Wyclef Jean declared that since his birth, he was a called of God that is why in all his songs he only preach positive messages and his inspiration does not come from Satan the devil, but of God.
Wyclef Jean, is very critical towards certain evangelical doctrines that are responsible of the fall of several thousand young people, which are now in the drugs, alcohol and prostitution. “During my musical career I never dreamed of hell” asserts Wyclef Jean which invites all the Haitian Christians to visit the popular neighborhoods to ask people to deposit their arms and to serve God who is the savior of humanity “”It is time, for us all, my fellow countrymen Haitians, to put an end to our hatred, our divisions, to the hypocrisy in order to live as brothers and sisters,” said the Star.
“Mwen pa sou blòf avèk nou lè Mwen di Mwen konvèti” indicated Mr. Jean, “2 Corinthien 5 V 17, you can see this in my current behavior and in my word.”
After the passage on stage of several Christian groups, accompanied by several musicians including Joël Widmaier on percussion, has interpreted several Evangelical songs, whose, “Jérusalem” and his test pressing titled “The World” which announces for the month of November 2011, the release of his new evangelical album.
After the concert, Wyclef Jean has called his colleagues musicians and singers to follow suit and to come glorify the name of God.
